Dragon Quest XI Contains Special Costume At Launch
We’re now less than a month away from the release of Dragon Quest XI, and Square has revealed a bonus for early adopters. Look in your inventory shortly after starting the game and you’ll find the outfit worn by the Hero character of Dragon Quest XIII!
Released in 2004 for the Playstation 2, Dragon Quest XIII was the first time a Western translation of the long-running series was able to use its original Japanese name (before then, it went by “Dragon Warrior”). The nameless Hero of that game dressed in an outfit called the “Trodain Togs.” Here’s what that costume looks like in the modern day:
So how does one get the costume? Preorder? Extra purchase? No such nonsense. No effort is required to get the Trodain Togs beyond buying the game. Everyone who purchases Dragon Quest XI and loads it up on launch will get to dress retro. Square makes no mention of a time limit on the costume’s availability, but they have put a limit on other such costumes before.
Dragon Quest XI will be released September 4 on Playstation 4 and PC via Steam.
