Dragon Quest Builders Arrives in October for PS4
Square Enix and Sony PlayStation have officially announced that Dragon Quest Builders will receive a western release later this October. The hit, long-running RPG series is going to launch on PlayStation and Vita in the fall. You can check out the announcement trailer below.
The game marks the 30th anniversary for the Dragon Quest franchise. The game was released earlier this year in Japan. The game features a “what if” storyline that follows the original Dragon Quest. The realm has been destroyed because the hero from the first game who was supposed to save the world was tempted into accepting a sham deal by the Dragonlord. The world is then plunged into darkness and despair. The few survivors have been scattered across the world and don’t understand the concept of creativity and live through scavenging of what remains in ruins. The game then begins with the player, either a boy or a girl, who has been awoken by a Guardian Spirit as the Legendary Builder. The Builder is the person in the world with the knowledge to create objects through combination and imagination. The Legendary Builder’s job is to rebuild the world to its former glory.
The game features sandbox action RPG mechanics, and everything plays out in real time in the game world. Everything in the world is made of blocks, and the blocks can be used to build whatever the player wants.
Dragon Quest Builders will receive a physical and digital release for PlayStation 4 and Vita.
