Disney Infinity: Doctor Strange Figure Was Cancelled
Earlier this year, it was announced that Disney Interactive is shutting down and the Disney Infinity game series, along with the toys-to-life figures, would be cancelled. This means that future plans for the game were shut down. And some of those future plans involved new Marvel material involving on Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange. The Infiniteer Adventures channel released a video showcasing the Doctor Strange figure concept art for Disney Infinity 3.0. You can check out the video showcasing the artwork below.
The figure was based on the likeness of Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Stephen Strange aka Doctor Strange for the upcoming Marvel Studios movie due out later this year. It’s pretty clear the figure would’ve coincided with the live-action movie due later this fall. It’s unfortunate because the figure does look really cool. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be.
The Doctor Strange movie arrives in theaters on November 30. Disney Infinity 3.0 is still available as well. And material is still going to be released for the game throughout the year. Unfortunately, the Doctor Strange figure is cancelled and won’t see the light of day. But fans can always wonder what could’ve been.
