Diary of a Wimpy Kid returns as a Disney Animated series
Diary of a Wimpy Kid Official Trailer
Diary of a Wimpy Kid returns as an animated series. Four live-action movies had been made about this book. Many people resonate with the story because most us has been an outcast as one point of our lives. There is a Wimpy kid on every one of us. Greg will now be immortalized in animated form. The puberty of actors will not be an issue anymore to adapt all of the books.
Some books from the series were not adapted into films. The reason, the actors changed was because of Puberty. Zachary Gordon and Devon Bostick played Greg and Rodrick for three films but they got recast in the fourth film after they grew up. Both Actors are now transitioned to adult roles. There was an attempt for a reboot where most of the cast got replaced. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul is a good movie but fans hated the recast. A fifth live-action will not happen but the transition to Animation is the right decision.
There are 16 books in the series and only 4 became movies. Disney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid will be a tv series for Disney+.
The Animated series will follow the art style of the book cover. Jeff Kinney, the writer of the books will be writing the episodes, so this is going to be a very faithful adaptation.
Most likely some episodes will be the remake of the movies while others will be adaptions of the unadapted books. Brady Noon (The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers,Good Boys) will be playing Greg, The titular Wimpy kid. Going Animated is a great direction for the series because a floating timeline can keep the characters young. Recasting will also be easier in Animation. Most kids are not aware that Peppa Pig was voiced by a third actress.
