Part of the bummer of having a game do timed exclusive content is that sometimes you don’t have the console that the timed exclusive content is on. For anyone who doesn’t play Destiny on the PS4, that means you. But fear not, for Bungie creative director Luke Smith has stated in an interview with Eurogamer that all the DLC content that was exclusive to PS4 will come to Xbox and PC once the time is right.
“The previously Sony-exclusive strikes will be available this autumn on Xbox,” Smith said. “But we’re not just re-issuing them. We’re [also] refreshing them completely with the Taken.”
He added, “We want you to experience The Undying Mind completely as it was with the Vex, and also in a Taken-ified version. We wanted to make it feel like more than last year’s model.”
Players across both platforms will be able to access both the original and new, more difficult content, allowing Xbox players to “play last year’s model and, as a community, Destiny fans can play through the new versions together and figure them out.”
So while it may be a little bit more of a wait, once the timer is up, you’ll soon be able to enjoy the content no matter what platform you are on. Destiny: The Taken King expansion will be available on September 15 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
