Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Hits Blu-Ray December 21
The train doesn’t stop: Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train has traveled from theaters to the Funimation app and soon it will arrive on physical disc. A release date for the Blu-Ray version of the movie was announced today.
The movie follows the events of Season One and the same protagonist, Tanjiro. Over forty passengers have disappeared without a trace after they boarded the titular train, and Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke are on the case. They are soon joined by one of the most powerful swordsmen of the Demon Slayer Corps, Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku…but even with him on their side, can they face what they’re up against?
The two-hour film covers an entire arc from the manga, an unusual move for adaptions of this type, but in this case the producers of the anime felt animating the Mugen Train story would cost too much as a TV season. Whether you’d prefer individual episodes or not, this option undeniably worked out for them. The film earned over $300 million in Japan and over $49 million in US theaters.
Special features of the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Blu-Ray include an audio commentary with English subtitles from Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro Kamado), Akari Kito (Nezuko Kamado), Hiro Shimono (Zenitsu Agatsuma), Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Inosuke Hashibira), and Satoshi Hino (Kyojuro Rengoku). You’ll also find an original soundtrack CD inside along with a deluxe booklet.
Look for Demon Slayer: Mugen Train on Blu-Ray starting December 21. The movie is also currently streamable through the Funimation app.
