Defense General Lands On Steam Greenlight
Defense General, a Tower-Defense game that requires strategic thinking, has landed on Steam Greenlight, getting a new preview of the gameplay with the campaign, which you can see below. Players must set up a maze and utilize scientific support to hold the enemy back. Players receive funds and technological points on wave’s end. These can be used to purchase new support skills and towers. Players have to manipulate real-timed tower-buff skills, freezing effect, and various artillery strikes.
But this game requires much less micro-controls compared to similar other games. Making a maze with towers is the main feature of this game and there’s numerous variations you can make, like a ‘Go’. Except for landmines, all kinds of towers can be upgraded to level 2, which makes their maintenance practical.
Defense General is set to have a number of features once it’s released, including:
- The enemy attacks in very large horde which sometimes contains nearly 300 units.
- The map is scaled and based on urban condition and minimap can be used to look up on details.
- These are types of the enemy: Infantry, Light Vehicle, Heavy Armor, and Zombies.
- Towers must be set strategically considering those types.
- Some towers’ attack range is very long covering entire map and the more complex the maze gets, the more efficient these
towers become. - Enemy air units will come sometimes. These units are weaker compared to ground units, but you’d better prepare AA towers.
- There are 3 attack skills and 3 support skills. Those skills require energy in order to be used and have no limit of use.
- Features 18 campaigns and 12 skirmish missions.
- A mission could take very long up to 4 hours. (Saving enabled)
- 20 waves in average consist one mission.
- Each enemy killed rewards you small amounts of resources.
- After a wave, players get a tower-building phase. Building one during a wave is also possible.
