Dead By Daylight Takes A Trip To Silent Hill
Dead By Daylight is an asymmetrical horror game where one character plays the killer and four others play the would-be victims in its vicinity. The killer has invulnerability and can never truly be stopped, and depending on what character it is, may also have special abilities. The way to win is to escape, and to do so, the survivors must work together to unlock the path to freedom.
Dead By Daylight has had a lot of crossovers. Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Ghostface from Scream, Ash from Evil Dead, and even Nancy and Steve from Stranger Things have shown up as playable characters. The game has never crossed over with ANOTHER game, however, until now. Be wary of sirens, because Dead By Daylight is transforming into Silent Hill.
The new monster you get in this crossover is, naturally, Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2. Here referred to as “The Executioner,” he pursues and attacks survivors with his massive, long-range knife. The knife can clip through objects (this is a feature, not a bug), so don’t assume hiding behind something will block his attack. The blade CAN make contact with the ground — PM can dig trenches in the dirt to limit navigation for survivors and lure then into traps.
If all this wasn’t bad enough, Pyramid Head is the only monster in Dead By Daylight that can capture survivors instantly and then chase after another one, because he can teleport them to a place called the Cage of Atonement. Can no one save you from this being?
Well, with a new monster comes a new survivor, and Silent Hill 3’s Heather Mason is here. Having prior experience with the town of Silent Hill, perhaps she can lend her knowledge to the other survivors. Silent Hill itself is represented in the new map, Midwich Elementary (based on the school location from the first Silent Hill).
Dead By Daylight is available now on consoles, PC, and mobile.
