Daredevil: New Trailer Confirms The Hand for Season 2
March is almost here, and that means the highly acclaimed series featuring the Man Without Fear is almost back. Today, Marvel Entertainment and Netflix have released the latest trailer for Marvel’s Daredevil, featuring a nice amount of new footage. You can check out the latest trailer below.
While the first trailer for the new season focused on Daredevil and Frank Castle aka The Punisher, this trailer focuses on the relationship between Matt Murdock aka Daredevil and his old girlfriend Elektra Natchios. In the first season, the show referenced Elektra during a flashback to Matt and Foggy Nelson’s college years, but she wasn’t actually named or seen. Now, Elektra makes her debut in the show, played by Elodie Yung. The footage depicts Elektra informing Murdock that the Yakuza are still in New York, and that they’ve been hibernating. Elektra wants Matt’s help to take them out. There’s some new fight footage of Daredevil and Elektra in her fighting clothes. It seems for the sake of this season, Elektra’s new outfit consists of mostly black and red type of scarf she uses as a mask. She also looks like she will don her trademark sai at some point, which she’s brandishing later in the trailer.
This is a pretty cool and action-packed trailer. It definitely looks like from this trailer the show is upping the ante and action from the first season. It looks like Matt and Foggy will have a great deal of conflict this season as well, with Foggy worried about Matt’s actions as Daredevil finally doing him in. Matt then claims, “I’m tired of apologizing to you for who I am.” There’s also a bit more of Rosario Dawson back as Claire Temple. And finally Scott Glenn is back as Stick who utters the line, “They’re called…The Hand!” So this confirms that the Japanese mobsters and Nobu from the first season were more than likely minions of The Hand. On minion claims that “The Rising is coming.” One wonders if what The Hand are up to will come into play for The Defenders miniseries.
Marvel’s Daredevil Season 2 arrives on Netflix on March 18. All 13 episodes of Season 2 will be available to stream at launch.
