Daniel Craig Offered $150 Million To Keep Being Bond
For certain franchises, keeping a certain character can be vital, especially when it comes to long-standing series. Studios know that fans like seeing familiar faces multiple times, and might become weary if a key face changes from movie to movie.
For the Jame Bond franchise, Daniel Craig has been the titular Bond for four movies now. Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre. Reportedly, he feels done with the role, but Sony isn’t of the same mindset. In fact, they want to double down on him, even offering him $150 million dollars to come back for a few more James Bond films.
“Everyone knows how much executives adore him, and the idea of losing him at such a crucial time in the franchise isn’t an option as far as all the studio honchos are concerned,” said a source to Radar
“Then they will shoot two more films, which will be made virtually back-to-back, preferably featuring Daniel as 007 before he passes the figurative baton to someone else for a third movie that will mark the start of the new era,” said the source.
This could be wise, as both Skyfall and Spectre were massive money makers at the box office, and a transition now could be bad. Then again, if Craig really doesn’t want to do it, they really can’t stop him.
