Crystal Dynamics names Lara Croft voice actress
It has been revealed that the voice behind Crystal Dynamics’ Lara Croft is none other than Camilla Anne Luddington, best known for her performance as royal Kate Middleton in 2011 film William & Kate.
A recent post from CD’s official Tomb Raider Facebook page reads:
“We’re very excited to finally reveal the voice & performance talent behind Lara Croft in Tomb Raider – English-born actress Camilla Luddington. Finding Camilla was no easy task, as it took an international talent search across Europe and the US to find the actress to deliver the right emotion and tone for the character.”
Camilla, who also stars as ‘Lizzie’ in Showtime’s Californication, and ‘Claudette’ in HBO’s True Blood, will make her public debut in Sand Diego next month to discuss her videogames role at the Nerd HQ and Comic-Con panels.
Tomb Raider is scheduled for release on March 5th 2013, for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

You know, somehow I don’t understand how you could cast a British actress, from Britain, as Lara Croft, a Brit, for authenticity purposes and yet STILL not get an actress with a genuine british accent.
It defeats the purpose… I just don’t understand.

Maybe they like the fake accent better?

Well, if they ever want to do a game-based flick of sorts like was done with Assassin’s Creed, they’d have a pretty decent actress for it…
But I’ve still gotta agree.
