Cryptozoic Announces Release Of “The Batman” Stylized Batmobile
It’s anyone’s guess how James Gunn will handle Batman in the new DCU, but we’re running out of ways to interpret the Dark Knight without repeating ourselves. The big screen has seen a super-campy Batman and a super-serious Batman. Last summer’s “The Batman” found its own reason to exist by focusing more on Mr. Wayne’s detective skills (and it’s not dead, “The Batman Part II” is still happening, it just won’t be part of the main DCU).
With every Batman movie comes a new Batmobile, and eventually, a fan-targeted collectible of that vehicle. Cryptozoic just revealed their The Batmobile and put it up for immediate sale. From what we remember, the Pattinson-Mobile looked rather normal compared to the Bat-machines of movies past. This required Cryptozoic to get a bit…creative with their interpretation.
Cryptozoic describes the style they went with as “through the lens of the hot rod-influenced style of Kustom Kulture art from the 1960s.” In other words, if Rat Fink were a billionaire who dressed as a bat at night. It’s certainly different.
“The Batmobile from ‘The Batman’ is already iconic, so we were thrilled to be able to offer our own unique interpretation,” said Shahriar Fouladi, Director of Product Development & Marketing at Cryptozoic. “Our goal was to create an incredible statue that seemed almost like it was in motion, the dynamic flames reflecting the speed and power of the Caped Crusader’s vehicle. We think collectors will love it as much as we do!”
