Creamerie, A New Zealand hit is coming to Hulu
Creamerie is a Hit show from New Zealand that explores the theme of gendercide. The Fans of Y: The Last man created 2 groups of upset fans. The fans of the comics hate the liberties the showrunner had. It had evolved into a show way different from the source material because it rid of the comedy and it became political. Then we have the fans who loved the show but got upset because FX and Hulu canceled it.
This Kiwi show can compensate for that.
Despite having Similarities with the canceled adaptation of the popular graphic novel, Creamerie has more positive feedback. It has lower expectations because it is not an adaptation of an award-winning material. Y: the last man failed to deliver for making it too political. It also sidelined the main characters in favor of minor characters.
Creamerie focused more on storytelling. All Biological human males in the world died. The other show happened in the early days of the Outbreak.
Creamerie Trailer
Jaimie(J.J. Fong) is an Asian New Zealander dairy farmer who lives in the same farm with her Sister in Law Alex(Ally Xue) and her Friend Pip.(Perlina Lau). She has been mourning the death of her husband since the outbreak that killed all biological males. All three women joined a feminist cult that makes lottery draw where the winners win an artificial insemination of the remaining frozen sperms from sperm banks. Jamie is longing to be a mother but she never qualified from the draws. One day, she found an unconscious man named Bobby (Jay Ryan). Bobby is the last remaining man in the world and the three women will have crazy misadventures with him.
The Creamerie delivers as a comedy but it also has elements of a thriller as someone is chasing Bobby and they need to protect him. This Show has more positive reviews and it got popular enough to be on Hulu so it has a higher chance of renewal.
