Countdown to Doomsday December 21st 2012 – Nibiru or Planet X (January)
In celebration (somehow I don’t think that’s the correct word) of our impending doom each month (up until December 21st) TheParanoidGamer will take a look at some of the most hilarious, absurd, and even frightening theories regarding December 21st, 2012. It seems appropriate to start off with perhaps the most asinine theory of the bunch, and that is regarding Nibiru, Planet X, or even Wormwood; if your a fan of the Bible.
When I created TheParanoidGamer this theory seemed to be peaking, however unfortunately it just hasn’t gone away. Normally I’d love to talk about “legitimate” conspiracy theories, but it seems that all the talk regarding Nibiru is just a giant scam; though I can see where it might be nice to get an extra chunk of revenue from the save earth fund. Let’s back up a bit though, what exactly is Nibiru or Planet X.
Essentially a small group of conspiracy theorists believe that a large planetary object which has been referred to as both Nibiru and Planet X will either collide into or barely miss Earth. The idea originates from a couple of places, but we’ll cover this particular instance first. Nancy Lieder, a Wisconsin woman claimed as a girl she was contacted by a group of extraterrestrials called Zetas, who implanted her with some kind of communications device. In 1995, she created the website ZetaTalk to discuss her ideas. Lieder claimed that Planet X was roughly four times the size of the Earth, and said that its closest approach would occur on May 27, 2003. Seeing as it’s now 2012, and nothing significant has crashed into Earth, I think it’s safe to fill this under the hoax section. Of course when nothing happened, Lieder backtracked, claiming that she would reveal the true date later.
Now that we can dismiss Planet X as nothing more than some nutcase ranting on a forum let’s move on to where exactly the idea of Nibiru came from.
Just to give you an idea of what we are dealing with.

Nibiru, is a supposed planet from the works of ancient astronaut proponent Zecharia Sitchin. According to Sitchin’s interpretation (which has already been slammed and discredited) of Babylonian religious texts, a giant planet (called Nibiru) passes by Earth every 3,600 years and allows its sentient inhabitants to interact with humanity. These beings, which Sitchin identified as the Annunaki (Sumerian origin), would become humanity’s first gods. Based on Sitchin’s “research” this event would not happen in 2012 like many propose but rather several hundreds years down the road.
So, let’s recap. The greatest amount of evidence is a claim from two different and completely unrelated people (who have already been discredited) that this sort of celestial body exists. What people refer to as one in the same is essentially two completely different theories with absolutely no credible evidence. I’ll give some of the conspiracy theorists a break.
Is there any evidence to suggest a doomsday event could occur from a “brown dwarf” as some imply?
Honestly, no. Poorly lit YouTube videos and pictures showcasing sun flares doesn’t constitute as “compelling” evidence, especially in the same way orbs have been discredited in the paranormal field. Could something like this remain undetected? Again, with a resounding no. Thousands of amateur astronomers scan the sky every night looking for anything that could spark interest in the community. I’ve seen how pretentious some of these people are first hand ( I used to be one of them) so it’s pretty much impossible something like this would go unnoticed.
So can we stop beating this ridiculous theory to death?
What do you think? Don’t forget to let us know what you think in the comment section.
Don’t forget to check back sometime in February as we cover the next theory.

You see, I have it all planned out. On the Dec. 21, all of you will be dying from earthquakes, tsunamis, volcano’s erupting, and all of that shit, while I’ll be coming back from my trip on a plane, all safe and far away from the disasters that are destroying all you fools. #FlawlessLogic

I have a different plan. While you’re on a plane thinking you’re safe. I’m gonna be at your house stealing your stuff. Might need an extra game console in the bunker.
