Comixology Expands Kodansha Library
More comics/manga news today: digital comics service Comixology has announced an expanded deal with Kodansha Comics that adds over 600 additional manga volumes to the former’s library. (The same deal was also made with Kindle Unlimited if you have that.)
This deal includes the newer volumes of titles like Attack on Titan Before the Fall, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Gleipnir, Chihayafuru and others. Also included are the full runs of other manga like A Silent Voice, Inuyashiki and Kiss Him Not Me. Previously, the number of Kodansha manga titles on Comixology was somewhere over 400, so the library has now grown to more than double the size.
“At Kodansha Comics we’re continually working to make it as easy as possible for our stories to reach fans everywhere,” says Kodansha USA Publishing President & CEO Alvin Lu. “And by leveraging comiXology and Kindle’s worldwide audience we’re sure our amazing series will find the growing number of manga and anime fans searching for new stories.”
Many of the new Kodansha additions are compatible with Comixology’s Guided View mode, which in their words “provides an immersive and cinematic, panel-to-panel reading experience.” Comixology Unlimited is available at a $5.99 monthly fee, plus a 30-day free trial if you’ve never signed up before.
