Code Name S.T.E.A.M. Gets Key Update
Nintendo continued to show their dedication to branching out their franchises by having Fire Emblem developer Intelligent Systems make the steam powered game Code Name S.T.E.A.M (Strike Team Eliminating the Alien Menace).
Despite early hesitation, reviews were positive, and fans truly seemed to like the turn-based combat mixed with RPG and RTS elements.
However, there was one huge drawback that both fans and reviewers noticed. Mainly that the enemy turns would take an incredibly long time to complete, thus slowing down gameplay to a crawl, annoying both gamer and reviewer alike.
True to form, Nintendo has fixed this problem with a patch that can be downloaded from the Nintendo 3DS eShop for free. Code Name S.T.E.A.M.’s patch v1.1.0 will indeed speed up enemy movements so you can complete your turns faster and get to the next ones. Also though, the speed of which it will pick up is different based on the 3DS you have.
If you have a standard 3DS or 3DS XL, the enemy movemens will be 2X faster. However, if you have the New Nintendo 3DS XL, it’ll be 3X faster.
Either way, this will no doubt please though who have Code Name S.T.E.A.M., and hopefully entice those who have been hesitant to try it out.
