Doctor Strange is going to be one of the more unique movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe lineup. Mainly because, it is a film based in pure magic. Now Thor was magic, but in a different way, but with Doctor Strange, it’s much more mystical. During an interview, Chiwetel Ejiofor, who will play Strange’s soon-to-be nemesis Baron Mordo, talked about what made Doctor Strange so appealing in respect to the other Marvel films:
“The extraordinary technical and visual achievements that Marvel have done at this point… are amazing”, said the actor. “I think that [Doctor Strange] also has this really unique place – it’s much more of a fantastical world, and I think it’s going to have a very stunning visual style and great characters.”
Typically, Doctor Strange deals with magical creatures and entities across numerous realms, and lives in an alternate dimension in the form of the Sanctum Sanctorum. So those details alone, added with the magical battles we’ll no doubt get in full, truly will make this a unique film. That of course also barely mentions Doctor Strange himself, who will bring his own unique appeal and flair to the lead character roles we’ve seen in various MCU films
Doctor Strange arrives on November 4, 2016.
