Charlie Cox Explains Why He Doesn’t Have Red Hair
Easily the most popular of the Marvel/Netflix shows is Daredevil, which blends intricate stories with brutal action with amazing results. The show has had two massively popular seasons so far, and has already hinted a third coming possibly soon.
However, despite it being a very true adaptation to the comics, there are some things that don’t fully line up. Mainly, that actor Charlie Cox doesn’t have Matt Murdock’s red hair as he’s portrayed in all mediums. Cox was at a panel at Dragon Con and explained why they didn’t have the signature hair:
“We tried,” he said. “It looked really weird.
So it wasn’t for lack of trying, which of course led to how he become Daredevil. From both the look, his motivation, and of course, the voice:
“[Murdock] knew he was gonna go out and make a difference,” he said. He went on to describe how the suit changes Murdock, from his demeanor to his speech. In fact, the producers cautioned Cox at one point, saying “You’re starting to sound like Batman.”
Cox will return to the Marvel/Netflix collaborations for not only Daredevil but the upcoming team-up series Defenders. Which will bring together Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.
