E3 2016: Xbox One S Details And Price Announced
The rumored Xbox One S console has been officially unveiled by Microsoft during their E3 media briefing. The white console, which was leaked yesterday when images first emerged on the internet, is 40% smaller than the current version of the console and will available from August.
There are a number of different versions of the console, however only one will be in stores this August. This $399 2TB edition will launch in limited numbers this summer. Two other versions of the console will follow – a $299 500GB edition and a $349 1TB version. Microsoft hasn’t revealed exactly when these will release but has said it shouldn’t be too long after the initial launch.
The Verge were given an exclusive look at the Xbox One S and created the below video, showing off its various new features.
As well as being significantly smaller the current model, the Xbox One S features a brand new controller that has a textured grip and streamlined design that connects using Bluetooth so that it can also be used on Windows 10. There is also no Kinect port on the console, while a USB port has been moved to the front of the box for easier use. Other interesting additions include an in-built IR Blaster, HDR gaming, support for 4K Blu-ray and an integrated power unit.
