Call Of Duty Warzone Takes Players On A Time Trip
Players of Call of Duty Warzone had to wonder what was going on last Wednesday, when a nuclear blast detonated over the Verdansk map. Anybody who was on that map was teleported to Rebirth Island, where they had to decipher some in-game hidden messages to trigger another event. That event: a time warp that transported all players back to 1984 and a new (to you) version of Verdansk, straight out of the past. Season Three of Warzone has begun!
It may have vaguely the same layout, but there’s a lot that has changed about Verdansk due to its trip through time. The buildings have been redesigned and restyled to fit the time period. There are new areas to check out like Grid Array (a large field of metal towers which you can climb and spot other players from). the Karst Salt Mines and Gora Summit.
“The launch of Warzone has reinvented Call of Duty. In just over a year, more than 100 million players around the world have jumped in to play Warzone together, and starting today we’re taking it to a new level,” said Rob Kostich, President, Activision. “Season Three brings a massive amount of content and new updates – the most since launch – to Warzone as it transforms to 1984, while we’re also bringing a tremendous amount of new, free content to Black Ops Cold War. Thank you to our fans everywhere, today is a celebration for our community. There’s so much more coming this season and beyond, get ready.”
Call Of Duty Warzone is a free multiplayer offshoot of the CoD series, its latest installment being Black Ops Cold War. It’s downloadable on all systems that regular paid Call of Duty can be played on.
