Call of Duty Black Ops III: Nuk3Town to be Re-Imagined for Game
Activision and Treyarch officially announced this week that a re-imagined version of the fan-favorite multiplayer map, Nuketown, will be making an appearance in Call of Duty Black Ops III. The new version, Nuke3town, is set in the year 2065 and has been refreshed for a new generation of gameplay. The map will focus on a the game’s new momentum-based-chained movement system with close-quarters combat. Players who pre-order the game will receive Nuk3town as a downloadable bonus map for the game at launch as an in-box download code for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC releases of the game.
Speaking on the new map, Treyarch Studio Head Mark Lamia stated: “The Nuketown maps have a special place in Call of Duty multiplayer history and we can’t wait to build upon that heritage in Black Ops III. We carefully adapted the design of the map to make sure that it fit with our new movement system, but to also make sure that we retained the spirit and the fun that made fans fall in love with it in the first place.” The map was previously a part of Call of Duty Black Ops and Black Ops II as Nuketown 2025. The new version has an updated look and feel.
Call of Duty Black Ops III is scheduled for launch on November 6. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. You can check out some artwork for the new multiplayer map below:
