Call of Duty Black Ops III: Multiplayer Beta Updates and More
Treyarch and Activision have announced some updates to the new multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops III, which started this week for the PlayStation 4 console. As of today, the Black Ops III Multiplayer Beta is open to everyone who owns a PlayStation 4, but for this weekend only. Some other additions and tweaks were also announced for the beta version.
PS4 owners who play the Multiplayer Beta this weekend will have the opportunity to earn the exclusive Black Ops III Zombies “Shadows of Evil” Theme. It will be available to download for the PS4 in a few weeks.
Treyarch also confirmed other new additions for the beta. This includes an increase of the level cap for the beta to Major (Level 34). This will unlock new weapons, equipment, perks and scorestreaks. In addition, a new map is being introduced into the beta rotation with Stronghold. Stronghold is set in a high-tech Swiss chateau in the frozen Alps. it features an asymmetrical design with a lethal mix of exposed sightlines and tight, close quarters.
A new specialist is also available for when players reach Level 34 in the beta with Reaper.You can check out the attributes for Reaper below:
- Real Name: Experimental War Robot (EWR)
- Bio: Started as an expensive military R&D project to supplement Special Operations soldiers in the field, the EWR was a cutting-edge prototype combat robot, the most advanced in the world at the time. Budget overruns and embarrassing political incidents left the project all but a resource for scrap metal, except for the one prototype that remained.
- Weapon: Scythe – Robotic arm that transforms into a high power Mini-Gun.
- Ability: Psychosis – Infiltrate enemy DNI systems to simulate three decoy clones.
Lastly, Treyarch has announced the introduction of the Uplink game mode to the multiplayer list. Uplink features players in a face off in an effort to take control of a downed satellite, which then has to be moved into the enemy’s goal.
The Call of Duty Black Ops III Multiplayer Beta will hit Xbox One and Windows PC starting August 26 next week. Call of Duty Black Ops III arrives on November 6 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
