Call of Duty: Black Ops coming to Mac
While the major consoles and PC will be seeing the release of Black Ops II in November, the Mac is just about ready to receive the first Black Ops.
The port of Black Ops is been handled by Aspyr Media, who have handled Mac ports of Call of Duty 1, 2 and 4 in the past; they’ve also been responsible for pretty much most of Mac ports the last few years, too.
To celebrate the reveal of Black Ops for Mac, Aspyr are selling all their previously ported Call of Duty titles for 50% off, as well.
No word on whether the game will become Steamplay, entitling all existing owners of Black Ops PC to a free Mac copy as well as allowing Mac and PC gamers to play multiplayer in the same servers.
Black Ops came out two years ago, so I’m willing to bet if any Mac gamers really wanted the game they’d already own it on console (or would have BootCamp’d Windows) so it’s kind of strange news. But if Black Ops is your jam and you own a Mac, then you’re set.
