http://www.petitiononline.com/BmanBox/petition.html
-WOW! CONFIRMATION OF THE ANIMATED BATMAN ON DVD!
A WB rep confirmed this, saying that the following will be released on DVD (in no particular order):
1) BATMAN BEYOND: RETURN OF THE JOKER — UNEDITED! (Really)
2) WORLD’S FINEST (The Batman/Superman Movie)
3) BATMAN & MR. FREEZE: SUB-ZERO
4) More BTAS episodes! However, no one knows if this would cover all 109 episodes or a “best of BTAS” sort of deal.
5) There are ideas of future direct-to-DVD Batman movies, as well as special editions of BATMAN and BATMAN RETURNS. (BATMAN FOREVER should get one, too! To hell with BATMAN & ROBIN, though.)
-Rumour has it that the WORLD’S FINEST DVD (aka “The Batman/Superman Movie”) may feature the other Bats/Supes crossovers, including the episodes KNIGHT TIME, GIRLS NIGHT OUT, and THE DEMON REBORN. The WB did this already; when REBIRTH (aka “Batman Beyond: The Movie”) was released on DVD, extra episodes (like MELTDOWN) were included.
-Go to the following link for a “preview clip” of the JLA series. Look under the date of October 24 for the downloadable file.

MOVIES
-ONSTAR is holding a contest where a winner gets to have a walk-on role in whatever the next Batman movie will be.

*BATMAN: YEAR ONE (BATMAN 5) NEWS:
-The reason why this production has been postponed for so long is because that with every rewrite of the script, Aronofsky and Miller have gone back to square one to start over. It will be made in time, though. Thanks to COMING SOON for the info.

*BATMAN BEYOND: LIVE ACTION NEWS:
-Apparently this movie is on indefinite hiatus because the futuristic environments needed in which to set the movie would cost a LOT to make. Thanks to COMING SOON for the info.

*BATMAN BEYOND: THE FOURTH ANIMATED MOVIE
-At the WIZARD WORLD convention, Paul Dini has confirmed that there will be more animated Bat-movies on the way. Aside from a second BATMAN BEYOND “Nightwing” film (which is always possible), there could possibly be movies featuring team-ups between Batman and Superman, Wonder Woman, Plastic Man, and Green Arrow. These ideas HAVE been greenlighted by the WB.

*CATWOMAN
-No new news on this movie for a while…but yeah, it’s still in production.

*WORLD’S FINEST
-No new news here. Don’t expect this movie to happen for quite a while. Development Hell, folks.

LIVE ACTION TELEVISION
-There are now rumours that if SMALLVILLE proves to be successful, the WB will be making a TV series based on Chuck Dixon’s BIRDS OF PREY comic series, featuring Oracle and Black Canary. Laeta Kalogridis (TOMB RAIDER) is attached as writer of the script and Mike Tollin, Brian Robbins, and Joe Davola are pegged as executive producers. This report has appeared in the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. No sign on any other Bat-characters (including the B-man himself) appearing in the series as of yet.

EXCLUSIVE INTERNET ENDEAVOURS:
-No new news here.

TOYS, BOOKS, AND OTHER MERCHANDISE
-For an interview with the creators of BATMAN: VENGEANCE, go here:
http://cube.ign.com/news/39359.html
-BATMAN: VENGEANCE for PLAYSTATION 2, is due out this fall. Looks like a great game! Heck, even Matches Malone made it in! My only wish is that more of the heroes and villains made it in. Thus far, Batman, Batgirl, Gordon, Matches, Joker, Harley, Poison Ivy, and Mr. Freeze are the only characters revealed to definitely be in the game. The hint book for the game has already popped up at a few stores so the game mustn’t be far from completion!
For a preview, go here. It has videos and stills, too!

COMIC REVIEWS
(BATMAN: GOTHAM ADVENTURES by Tim “TWO-FACE” Leighton)
(SUPERMAN ADVENTURES by Dick Grayson)

BATMAN: GOTHAM ADVENTURES
ISSUE: “Turnabout” (#43)
WRITTEN BY: Scott Peterson
PENCILS: Tim Levins
INKS: Terry Beatty
COLOURIST: Lee Loughridge
LETTERER: Albert T. Deguzman
COVER ART: Bob Smith and Terry Beatty
ISSUED: October 24, 2001 (Cover date Dec 2001)
RATING: ***
Even though it has the potential to be terribly cheesy and just all-out awful writing, I can’t think of an example of this type of story, including , NOT working in the animated continuity. I am, of course, talking about the type of story I like to call the “Arkham Soap Opera”.
Who better to star in this type of story than the one inmate that actually used to work for the institution? It’s been two dozen issues since Harley got a starring role in a GOTHAM ADVENTURES issue; like a few other of my favourite villains out there, all I have to say is that it’s about time!
The cameos by all the other inmates (by either appearance or reference) were all great, too. Since Harley is never going to be a villain in her own right, really – I mean, she’s more than a thug but can never help from associating with SOMEONE, be it a clown or a plant-lady or someone else – she probably has close ties to everyone in the joint. That said, it made the mystery of who was out to get her even more fun to try and solve.
