Black Panther Sequel Already Greenlit By Marvel Studios
To say that Black Panther was a success at the box office is by and large one of the biggest understatements of the year. The film has broken records left and right, and is now one of the top-grossing films of all time…and it hasn’t even been out a month. So, we’re getting a sequel to the film, right? That was the question Entertainment Weekly posed to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, and this was his answer:
“Nothing specific to reveal, other than to say we absolutely will do that. One of the favorite pastimes at Marvel Studios is sitting around on a Part One and talking and dreaming about what we would do in a Part Two.”
If they didn’t do a Black Panther sequel, it would’ve been extremely odd. Plus, in the interview, Feige noted that while they were making the original film, they started thinking about what they could do in the second in regards to main ideas and direction of the film. So anything is possible.
Naturally, the sequel would come after the Infinity War films, in which Black Panther and Wakanda will play a big part, so no doubt that will play a part in what comes next for the story. It goes without saying though that this is now one of the most-anticipated Marvel films coming out after Infinity War.
