Black Friday 2019: Gamestop’s Offerings (Updated)
A few days ago we reported on Gamestop’s original Black Friday circular. They have now come out with a more up-to-date flyer that has what the original didn’t — specifics on what will be on sale during the day itself. They’re cutting it mightily close compared to their competitors, but as we repeatedly snarked last time, maybe they’re just accepting their fate.
As we said earlier, they’ll have the expected 1TB Playstation 4 with the three included games for $199, and the $149 XBox One S with its own three titles (every store has both these deals). However, Gamestop is the only outlet that is advertising a sale on the PS4 Pro; It’s $299 there, while it’s $399 everywhere else. They also have an exclusive on a $349 XBox One X that comes with the awful NBA 2K20.
When it comes to Switch, Gamestop is also the only outlet doing something even slightly different: it’s the same Mario Kart 8 bundle from last year, BUT you also get a $25 gift card. If you want a more up-to-date model, the Switch Lite also comes with the gift card.
In terms of games, Gamestop is offering the entire Playstation Hits line for just $10 individually; this includes all the Uncharted titles, the PS4 games that are also in the console bundle, Bloodborne and Little Big Planet 3. Some XBox One games will be 50% off including Gears 5, Sea of Thieves, Forza Horizon 4 and Crackdown 3.
They’ve made my job painful for me by NOT grouping all the individual game titles by price. In no particular order, here are random sales on some popular games: Call of Duty Modern Warfare is $38, Mortal Kombat 11 is $28, Borderlands 3 is $30, Switch Witcher is $50, Collection of Mana is $25 (get this if you don’t have it), Mario & Rabbids is $20, Switch Final Fantasy X/X2 and XII are both $25, Ni No Kuni (Switch) is $30…
(deep breath)
Red Dead Redemption 2 is $30, Breath of the Wild is $40, Spider-Man GOTY Edition is $20, Catherine Full Body is $30, Days Gone is $20, Need For Speed Heat is $30, Resident Evil 2 is $20, Sekiro is $28, Kingdom Hearts 3 is $20, Nier Automata is $20, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is $15, Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far is $20, and all current-gen used games are Buy 2 Get 1 Free. All last-gen used games (including the Wii U and Vita) are Buy 1 Get 1 Free.
Oh yeah, and Anthem is $5. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Still too much.
