Bethesda Accepts 2,000 Bottle Caps as Payment for Fallout 4
Last week, we brought you the news that a user of Imgur had sent his lifetime savings of bottle caps to developer Bethesda in an attempt to pre-order the upcoming Fallout 4. Altogether the user sent a letter explaining his request and a collection of 2,240 caps that he had accumulated from several years of drinking while at university.
Well it looks like the rather optimistic stunt actually worked. The user, known as GatorMacheteJr, revealed in a new post of the website that he had received an email from the company that had some rather good news for him. Matt Grandstaff had responded to say that because he was the first person to send in his caps in exchange for the game, Bethesda would accept this one-time payment and send him a copy of Fallout 4 when it releases this November. Matt went on to explain that he would be depositing the caps into the People’s Bank of Point Lookout, an in-game location that can be seen below.
The developer went on to confirm that the news was true on his personal Twitter account, while he also went on to post a picture of the caps at his office stating that the room now smelt of beer thanks to the package. He went on to explain that “for being first, he [the Imgur user] deserves the recognition.” Although we are guessing that both Matt and Bethesda would probably prefer it if other fans didn’t copy the action as they probably don’t want their office filled with bottle caps.
