Benicio del Toro Says He’ll be in Star Wars Episode VIII
As we draw closer to the return of Star Wars to movie theaters, it’s inevitable that we here more and more about the films that will follow the no doubt successful film. Today’s news spins off of rumors that Star Wars Episode VIII (the one after The Force Awakens) will feature Benicio del Toro, who you might now from numerous roles including The Collector from Guardians of the Galaxy. He talked with ET and said that most likely he’ll be in the film:
“I can’t tell you much about it but I think that it might happen,” the actor told ET. “It looks like it’s gonna happen, so I’m very excited. I can’t talk too much about it. The script is hard to get. They told me they’d cut my finger if I talk about it.”
Don’t think this is just an actor jumping on a successful band wagon, Del Toro notes he’s been a Star Wars fan for a while, saying, “I saw the original one when it came out and it marked me. I was impressed by the film and by the characters and by the story and the message.”
Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens opens in theaters on December 18. Star Wars: Episode VIII is scheduled for a May 26, 2017 release.
