Beauty and the Beast: Emma Watson Sings as Belle
One of the most anticipated film releases of 2017 is the live-action remake of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. One big reason for that is that it features Harry Potter star Emma Watson portraying the role of Bell. You can check out a new TV spot that Walt Disney Studios released this week below.
The new TV spot is interesting since it features a sneak peek of Emma Watson actually singing in the role of Belle from the film. Audiences haven’t seen too much of this yet, so it’s nice to get a sample at least. The trailer also features the first look at live-action Chip. So far, the marketing for the film has been rather strong. Hopefully, it will at least turn out better than Disney’s Into the Woods.
The upcoming remake hits theaters on March 17, 2017. Here’s an official synopsis:
The story and characters audiences know and love come to spectacular life in the live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic “Beauty and the Beast,” a stunning, cinematic event celebrating one of the most beloved tales ever told. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a Beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart of the true Prince within. The film stars: Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s father; Josh Gad as LeFou, Gaston’s long-suffering aide-de-camp; Ewan McGregor as Lumière, the candelabra; Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Audra McDonald as Madame de Garderobe, the wardrobe; Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, the feather duster; Hattie Morahan as the enchantress; and Nathan Mack as Chip, the teacup; with Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.

Emma actually has a beautiful singing voice is very disney like. I am now more looking forward to seeing her role and the movie. I think is will be the best disney movie put to live. I did not really enjoy Cinderella so I hope this one does exceed my expectations.

This movie ruins the original for me. The original itself is even over-rated, to be quite honest. There is so much garbage and lies in Hollywood musicals……

Why would it ruin the original? If by original you mean the animated Disney version, then you're wrong about it being the original movie/story since the original was published in the 1740s.

I really got excited the first time I saw it's trailer last year and I've been waiting for it's release since then. I always like Hermione, I mean Emma Watson and even if I think she looks too young for the character (Belle), I believe she'll play it well 🙂 I've seen the animated movie years ago, back when I was a kid and I love it! I hope it would be perfect just like the animated film 😀

I don't get why people say a remake "ruins" the original. It's not like the original doesn't still exist. If you don't like a remake, ignore it and watch the original.

Exactly. I would never get why a remake or reenactment of a film would ruin anything. The only thing that would ruin the original would be a sequel because it changes the course of the actual story.
