Battlefield 3’s Aftermath DLC set to shake up multiplayer
Electronic Arts has sent us the premiere trailer for Battlefield 3 map pack Aftermath, and like Back to Karkand, Close Quarters and Armored Kill, it’s brimming with new content.
Available sometime in December, Aftermath is set amongst the shattered districts, streets and surrounding villages of a devastated Tehran. Earthquakes have severely compromised operational capacity, and opposing forces must adapt and engage in vertical and horizontal urban warfare amongst the dust and rubble, using cracks and fissures in the terrain to their advantage.
The promotional footage, embedded below, confirms that Aftermath will include four new maps, a new game mode, new vehicles (civilian and military, we’ve read), new assignments, new achievements, and an all-new crossbow akin to the model featured in Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops. Skip ahead to 1:48 to see it in action.
