Battlefield 3 : Day One patch required to bring console version to “final retail version”
According to DICE Lead Designer David Goldfarb, Battlefield 3’s console version will require the day one patch to be downloaded and installed to bring the game to its “final retail version”.
In a response to a query on Twitter about IGN’s delays in releasing a console review, Goldfarb confirmed that the day one patch will have “all the final stuff”.
So far there have been no officially sanctioned reviews of the console version, with IGN stating they are waiting for the day one patch.
Gone are the days when console games had to be complete and bug-free at the time of release, it seems.

Tell me I’m not the only one getting severely annoyed by all these day 1 patches.
