So Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment dropped the new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer this week. It featured some pretty huge reveals. The trailer also suggests that the Justice League movie is not in fact where the team first forms, but this movie. Has Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice really just been masquerading as Justice League this entire team? It certainly seems that way with Wonder Woman joining the fight against Doomsday and Lex Luthor here. You can check out the brand-new, extended trailer for Batman v Superman below.
Did I mention DOOMSDAY? Well, this trailer confirmed what had already been rumored online. Lex Luthor uses the dead corpse of Zod and somehow resurrects him as Doomsday. In other words, the film already reveals how Batman and Superman put aside their differences to fight together. They unite, along with Wonder Woman, to fight Doomsday. This trailer came off as surprisingly revealing. It’s a starch difference from how J.J. Abrams has tried to show a lot more restraint with the trailers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This trailer in some ways comes off like it reveals the whole movie. Batman decides to fight and go after Superman. The two come to blows due to Lex Luthor’s instigation. They make up. Then they all unite with Wonder Woman, and probably Aquaman, to fight Doomsday.
It will be interesting to see how the movie is received upon its release. Though it’s hard to see the first film featuring both Batman and Superman doing bad at the box office. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice arrives in theaters on March 25, 2016.
