Batman v Superman: Awesome New Clip Debuts on Conan
Zack Snyder brought a new, extended clip from his upcoming comic book superhero extravaganza, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, to TBS’ Conan last night. The full clip has made its way online, and you can check it out in its full, unfettered glory in the player below. The clip offers a differently edited version of one of the recently released TV spots from last week.
This was the clip where Batman has a confrontation with Superman of sorts. The version on Conan offers a more clarified explanation of the scene and exactly what is happening between the Dark Knight and Big Blue. After the Batmobile has harmlessly bounced off of Superman and crashed into a building, Superman rips off the canopy of the vehicle like it was made out of paper. Batman stands, and Superman actually delivers a threat to Batman. Superman references the Bat-signal, “Next time they shine your light in the sky, don’t go to it. The Bat is dead. Bury it. Consider this mercy.” It seems Superman just kicked a hornet’s nest, as the Caped Crusader doesn’t take kindly to threats. That’s where Batman utters, “Tell me. Do you bleed?” Superman doesn’t respond and flies away, as Batman utters, “You will.”
This is probably one of the earlier or first scenes between Batman and Superman in the film. The scene is definitely iconic, and the two heroes clearly share a lot of animosity, at leas before they reach an understanding and decide to finally team up against evil. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that Lex Luthor is more than likely going to provoke this rivalry and stoke the fires so they will perhaps destroy each other.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice finally arrives in theaters on March 25.
