Batman to Truly Appear in Suicide Squad? Joker to Appear in Batman v Superman?
With the filming of Suicide Squad fully underway, there are plenty of rumors and speculation as to what is happening on set, and more importantly, in the film.
Some recent pics caught on the set of Suicide Squad (and posted on Twitter) seem to indicate that Ben Affleck’s Batman will have a bigger role than predicted. Initially, it was stated that he would be in the film via security cam footage, possibly as a push for Amanda Waller to get the Squad together for a mission. Now though, Ben Affleck has been caught (in what appears to be Bruce Wayne garb) on the set of Suicide Squad in Toronto, which would seem to indicate he will indeed be in the film in a more personal role.
But wait, there’s more!
According to Latino Review, it’s being stated that a possible flashback sequence in Batman v Superman will be added to show off Jared Leto’s Joker beating and killing Jason Todd. Who has long been rumored to be in the film. This seems to indicated that the “Death in the Family” will somehow be added to the universe, something that has honestly rarely been touched on Batman media other than a cameo in Young Justice and the animated film “Under the Red Hood”. In the live action films and series, only Dick Grayson has been Robin.
Again, this is just rumor, and the timing is a little suspect. However, if DC planned to do this all along, it would explain the big delay for BVS. We’ll just have to wait and see how this all pans out.
