Batman Arkham VR Allows Fans to “Wear the Cowl”
Earlier this year, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced Batman: Arkham VR, a new VR experience set in the Batman Arkham universe. It seems Rocksteady Studios was not quite finished yet with the Arkham franchise as they had previously led fans to believe. Either way, the game was on display for fans to try out at this year’s E3. It later again was available to the public for those in attendance at this year’s Comic-Con. WB Interactive has released a new trailer with fan reactions for the game, along with a first look at the game’s footage. That video is available below.
In the game, players will be able to actually descend into the Batcave, don Batman’s cape and cowl and immerse themselves in Gotham City and Wayne Manor. At the very least, it’s nice to see Rocksteady do one more piece of Batman material with this game. While the press materials are boasting an immersive experience, it will be interesting to see just how immersive it turns out to be in the game. I was also told by others who tried out the experience at E3, that this is more like a visual novel or VR experience than a full, actual game.
Batman: Arkham VR will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 4 with PlayStation VR in October. It will be priced at $19.99.
