Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora a game that will expand the lore of Avatar
I had been waiting for a movie sequel for James Cameron‘s Avatar. I am not yet getting that movie but the world of Pandora will be expanded on a multiplatform AAA game. Ubisoft just dropped down the new trailer and it is visual poetry. It is candy for my craving eyes and this visual presentation gives me a sensory overload in a good way. The Na’vi looks the same so I am not sure if the main characters are Jake Sully and Neytiri again.
A newer generation of the Snowdrop engine is used to make Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and my jaw dropped on the floor that I needed to find it. You need to see the trailer yourself:
Most games based on movies are not good but this one is pregnant with potential. An open-world game where you can explore the Earth-like moon of a gas giant. I want to see more and play the game myself because of the visuals I see. We don’t even have gameplay footage but I am already sold because it looks like a movie. The game seemed to follow where the movie left off. The Earthlings seemed to be the antagonist of the game again. Pandora is the home of the Na’vi and they won’t let humans colonize them because of their intention to mine unobtanium.
Pandora is the moon of the Gas Giant planet Polyphemus. Nasa has theories that the frozen moons of Jupiter may sustain life. Pandora is like a more tropical version of those moons. Polyphemus has 14 moons. I remember James Cameron made a statement that some of the other moons of this gas giant may sustain life as well. I wonder if those moons will be explored in this game.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is coming out this 2022 at PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Stadia, and Amazon Luna.
