As streaming sticks become common household items, and newer TVs have Roku or Amazon Fire functionality built in, more and more free-to-stream services are popping up. Though these lower-budget offerings can’t compete with the big boys on an “original content” level, they make up for it by offering material that’s harder to find.

Odds are, if you’re looking for something old or obscure, you’ll stand a better chance of finding it on one of these streamers than on Netflix. You will, however, have to deal with ad breaks (it’s free; you are the product).

A brand-new free streamer, Avail TV, just launched today from Avail Entertainment LLC. Why are we bringing it up? First of all, one of the movies we’re been covering, Emerald Run with David Chokachi and Yancy Butler, will be available there. Turns out the movie is being distributed theatrically by Avail as well, and will be streamable 90 days after its big-screen premiere.

So will Stan The Man, a rom-com starring Emmy winner Katherine Kelly Lang and Steven Chase…it is also being distributed by Avail and will appear 90 days after opening.

As for what’s there now, Avail TV has the horror anthology Morbid Stories, the sci-fi action film Astro starring Gary Daniels, horror film The Butcher, Mark Hamill in Slipstream, The Satanic Rites of Dracula with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, Easy Rider 2: The Ride Home starring Jeff Fahey, and The Last Man on Earth (the Vincent Price version).

Check out Avail TV by heading to the channel shop of your favorite streaming device. The app costs nothing to try (or keep).
