Arcane renewed for a second season
Arcane can now celebrate because it’s renewed! Netflix shows have to explode before it got an early announcement for another season. Most shows either get canceled or have to wait for 6 months to a year before an announcement for renewal. Based from the League of Legends lore, Arcane is a 9 episode CGI animated series. It is a prequel to the game as it explores the origin stories of different LOL characters. The series is such a pleasure to watch that even people who don’t play the games become a fan.
The Cell Shaded style animation felt like seeing paintings being animated. So this series is going to age well even two decades from now.
The most recent CGI adaptation of games in Netflix is not as successful because of bad writing. Dragon’s Dogma and Resident evil: Infinite darkness got mixed to negative reviews. Fortiche Productions, Riot Games and Netflix have a reason to celebrate because of this victory. Riot Games found a 3rd party partner that respected their IP and handled it with care. They found a balance between satisfying hardcore fans and casuals at the same time. Games are better adapted as series than movies because films cannot give justice to lore in just 1 to 2 hours.
Arcane focuses on Two Sisters Vi(Hailee Steinfeld) and Jinx( Ella Purnell) who got separate by chaos and conflicts. The two will try to reunite despite the hurdles of dark power that keep them apart.
Fans’ reactions to Cinematic trailers of LOL is what inspired the creation of this series. Fans and critics are both satisfied because of the visuals, plot, and pacing. League of Legends became successful that aside from Arcane, they even had a virtual KPOP group called K-Da. As long as they wont try to explore the live action space, they can keep their IP’s dignity intact.

Netflix is so obsessed with the success of this show they forced the same plot to Resident Evil and failed miserably.

“Games are better adapted as series than movie”, I was a little bit disappointed with “uncharted” I didn’t get what I was expecting but I’m sure this will do.

Since the business news reports that Netflix is about to lose a lot of subscribers, they better renew popular shows like Arcane. I have never watched it but I love the artwork!
