Ant-Man: New Posters and TV Spot Feature Fun Avengers Cross-Promotion
The summer movie season is far from over for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The final film of Marvel Studios’ Phase 2, Ant-Man, is still set to debut later this July. This week, Marvel Studios has released some fun new poster images showing how the diminutive hero Ant-Man, aka Scott Lang, sizes up next to the trademark signatures of the Avengers’ Big Three: Captain America’s shield, Thor’s hammer Mjolnir, and Iron Man’s armor. You can check out the new poster images below.
In addition, Marvel also released two recent TV spots, one of which is an extended one minute spot with a great deal of new footage. Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang even makes an amusing joke in one about calling the Avengers. You can check out both spots in the players below. There is also some cool footage of Corey Stoll as Yellow Jacket. That said, the plot does seem a little derivative of the first Iron Man film in some ways. Also the cinematic replacement with an older Hank Pym passing the torch to a younger Scott Lang is a little jarring, especially for longtime fans who are more connected to Hank Pym as Ant-Man and Giant Man.
In Ant-Man, master thief Scott Lang is forced to embrace his inner hero to help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind the Ant-Man suit from a new generation of threats. Pym and Lang must pland and pull off a heist that will save the world. The film hits theaters on July 17.
