You’d think that after the Super Smash Bros special earlier today, that we wouldn’t get any more Nintendo news until the E3 Digital Event on Tuesday…you would be wrong.
In fact, we got two big pieces of information about future content and items Nintendo related. First up, a tweet from Nintendo of Europe (photo captured by My Amiibo News) has unveiled a set of Animal Crossing Amiibo’s, and a special Mario Amiibo in his classic 2D 16-Bit form.
For Animal Crossing, this isn’t too much of a surprise, as another title in the long running franchise is coming later this year (maybe another one will be announced soon?), and the Mario one could be a tag-along to the upcoming Mario Maker game.
And as if that wasn’t enough to get us happy, during the Nintendo World Championships, Nintendo announced that the original Mother game, for us called Earthbound Beginnings, is going to be available for download on the Wii U Virtual Console at 6pm PT.
For those of you curious about the title, the game we know as Earthbound is called Mother 2 in Japan, this title is the original Mother title that was never released in US. Could this be a sign that Mother 3 (which starred Lucas who’s in Super Smash Bros.) may be on the way as well?
