Andy Serkis’ Role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Revealed
When the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer first arrived, there was a narrator guiding it. We would soon learn that it was the one and only Andy Serkis. Yet we were not told who he was (as in the narrator), or what side he might lay claim to. Nor what impact he would have on the film. The movie seems to be doing that a lot to be honest
Well today, one part of they mystery is resolved. Per an interview with Annie Leibovitz at StarWars.com, Andy Serking has been revealed as filling the role of one Supreme Leader Snoke. Furthermore, the pic above reveals that once again, Serkis will be a playing a CGI motion-captured character. This is truly Andy Serkis bread and butter, as he made his name in doing such roles as Gollum from The Lord of the Rings saga and Caesar from Rise of the Planet of the Apes and its sequels.
Outside of his name, we don’t know anything about Supreme Leader Snoke. However, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility to guess that he is part of the dark forces of the First Order that will rise up in The Force Awakens. After all, since when did a good guy have the name “Supreme Leader”?
Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18.
