Amazon Original “The Boys” will have a college setting spinoff
Amazon Prime original is satisfied with the success of the adult-oriented Superhero show, The Boys. It is an adaptation of a comic-book series written by Garth Ennis.
Both first two seasons got praised by critics and audiences alike. It is their most-watched Original based on the global audience feedback. The second season just doubled the audience the first one have. People got enticed by the edgier and darker portrayal of superheroes.
“The boys” showed a world where superheroes are nothing but products of capitalism and have tendencies to be more corrupt than the worst politicians. The show also lets the audience see a scenario of evil and a maniacal superhero with Homelander.
Sony Pictures and Amazon Prime wanted to cash in with the popularity of the show that they are rushing to produce a spinoff. The upcoming has no working title yet. Craig Rosenberg, one of the producers of The Boys, had been working on the early stages of this imminent spinoff.
The setting of the future series is an American college where aspiring superheroes are training to be the next generation of costumed defenders. Imagine “My hero Academia” but with more sex, gore, violence, and politics. The university is funded and owned by Vought International. The students are competing to prosper their careers.
The script for this show got compared to The Hunger Games. Craig Rosenberg is writing the pilot of this unnamed series. The spin-off is 100% original and it is not going to be an adaptation just like the main series.
Hollywood actor Seth Rogen, one of the producers of this show, just confirmed the existence of this series with his twitter account. He said that “The Vaught Cinematic Universe is expanding.” Fans are excited and about this upcoming original and hope it can exceed expectations like the main series does.
