Alisa, A Ps1 inspired fixed camera survival horror game
Alisa, When fairy tale meets Resident evil
Alisa is now available in Itch and Steam. This PC survival horror is a throwback to Ps1 graphics. I am talking about the Ps1 versions of Resident Evil and Silent Hill. It is developed by Casper Croes and developed for years by himself. The game is serving you Fixed camera angles, Pre-rendered backgrounds, and Tank control realness to give you that nostalgia. I haven’t played a fixed camera angle game for a long time and something is rewarding about it. Despite the graphical limitations, It gives me more dread and vulnerability.
It is hard to believe that a single person created this game but that is how games were made back in the day. Even if Alisa is a throwback to vintage Resident evil games, It still managed to have its own identity. It sports a fairy tale gone wrong aesthetic. You will be fighting dolls, marionettes, and creepy clowns in place of zombies. If you are a person who refuses to play a game that doesn’t have 4k graphics, this is not for you but if you don’t mind playing Minecraft and Roblox then give it a chance. Most survival games these days have easy puzzles or have no puzzles at all. Alisa offers challenging puzzles that require you to use your brain.
Ever Since its release, Alisa have nothing but positive reviews from players who have urges to play something nostalgic. It felt like you are back in the 90s again. They intentionally hired an unprofessional voice actor as a throwback to Barry Burton’s dub in the original Resident evil. So expect a lot of Jill Sandwich moments with this one. Alisa seemed to be set in a world inspired by the 1920s. It is about the agent who was investigating a mansion only to discover the dark secrets it has.
