Agent Carter Head Talks Possibility of Third Season
Last night, the season finale for Agent Carter aired. And with the end of the second season come the tense pause from fans wondering if Agent Carter will return for a third season. If you recall, the first season went through a very long and stressful pause as both team and fans waited for the greenlight, and they got it. Now though, it begins again.
IGN spoke with executive producer Michelle Fazekas about this, and asked point blank whether the show heads have heard anything from ABC about a potential third season:
“At this point, nothing. It’s too early. The reality is the numbers are what the numbers are. We obviously wish more people were watching the show. Certainly in the plus three and plus seven DVR numbers, there are a lot more people watching than watching it at night. I think most of our audience does time shift it. I don’t know how many people are watching it digitally on ABC.com. I don’t know. I think there’s also the added bonus of the fact that Hayley Atwell is in an ABC pilot. There’s that. What’s been really nice, especially in these past few weeks is how nice it has been received critically and how many people are saying the show should come back. That’s very gratifying. Tara [Butters] and I love the show so much and it’s a really happy group of people. The actors are so happy. The crew is so happy. It’s really amazing to be a fan of your own job. It goes across the board. We got a call a few weeks ago from James D’Arcy who was calling to say, “Whatever happens, this is the best job I’ve ever had. You guys are amazing writers. You guys are amazing showrunners and I hope we can do it again or if not do something else.” That doesn’t happen a lot and it’s a testament to what a good person he is but also what a good job this is for everybody. I don’t know what’s going to happen and I don’t know if there’s life… People keep saying, “What about Netflix? What about Digital?” Certainly the world is full of possibility. We would be open to any and all possibility. But if not, it was really fun and I will be sad. We will all be sad.”
If the show gets a third season, we will let you know.
