Adult Swim Debuts New Series “Teenage Euthanasia”
Now faced with a gaping hole left behind from the departure of Family Guy, Adult Swim has been working overtime to create a larger amount of new content, searching for that next hit. Is it Teenage Euthansia, the animated show now running its debut season Sundays at midnight? Or will viewers be too weirded out? (Just kidding, it’s Adult Swim, they should know what they’re in for at this point.)
Once upon a time there was a teenager named Trophy Fantasy who lived with her parents, Baba and Pete, in a funeral home called Tender Endings. After becoming pregnant, Trophy ran away and left the baby to be cared for by Baba and Pete. She would eventually turn up again, but as the latest stiff to be embalmed.
Her daughter (whose birth name is Euthanasia, creating the show’s weird title) was a teenager herself at this point and was very upset at this discovery, but a little homemade embalming fluid combined with her own tears managed to reanimate Trophy — and then some. Now a flying zombie with supernatural powers, Trophy is determined to make up for lost time with the daughter she never knew. That girl is now wishing her mama could have stayed dead. Fittingly, the series is set in Florida.
A sneak preview episode of Teenage Euthanasia ran after the season finale of Rick & Morty earlier this month, but last week marked the proper premiere for the series. This weekend, Episode 2 airs in which Trophy and Baba get arrested. The only way out is to compete for a pardon on the reality TV show “Top Felon.” Catch the insanity Sunday nights at midnight on Adult Swim.
