A Plague Tale: Innocence Coming In 2019
Asobo Studio has pulled the curtain on A Plague Tale: Innocence, their upcoming action/adventure/survival video game — coming to modern platforms sometime next year.
A Plague Tale is about two orphans trying to survive in medieval France, and if you know your history, you know just how badly that place sucked. Rat plagues, lack of hygiene, and the Spanish Inquisition are just some of the obstacles Amicia and Hugo will face as they journey through forests, catacombs, abandoned battlefields and, if they’re fortunate, villages.
Far from flat protagonists, Amicia and Hugo will react to events around them and express vivid emotion, even when you’re controlling the game. Gameplay includes elements of action, exploration and stealth….we expect it to be a lot like The Last Of Us, except it takes place in a wasteland that actually existed.
Asobo has been working on the game for a while, and they’re finally ready to show it off. It’s not at the trailer stage, but we do have these screenshots….
Pretty impressive stuff. A Plague Tale: Innocence will be out for Playstation 4, XBox One and PC sometime in 2019.
A Plague Tale: Innocence tells a grim and emotional story, sending us on a journey through medieval France, with gameplay blending adventure, action, and stealth, supported by a compelling, moving story. Follow Amicia and Hugo De Rune, two lost children trying to survive a harsh, brutal world plagued by the Black Death. On the run from the Inquisition, and surrounded by the unnatural swarms of rats that appeared with the disease, Amicia and Hugo embark on a rocky journey that will not leave them unscathed.
