What to talk about

It was six years ago when The Walt Disney Company first announced it was absorbing 20th Century Fox (now 20th Century Studios), and one major motive for that purchase was blatantly obvious: Disney only partially owned the movie rights to the Marvel catalogue. Marvel had given the X-Men away to Fox (as well as the Fantastic Four) and buying the studio outright would mean Disney owned the concept of a mutant again, and wouldn’t have to keep pushing “Inhumans” as a thing.
Developer Relative Games’ customizable shmup, CounterAttack Uprising, was originally a PC exclusive when it launched in 2019. Since then console versions of the game have sprouted up gradually, first on XBox and now, today, on Switch. One of Netflix’s largest projects to date is Rebel Moon, a big, expensive, super-long sci-fi movie created by Zack Snyder and based on ideas he had for a Star Wars film. Scott Pilgrim Takes Off in just 51 days. The anime version of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s awkward tale of love, conflict and Pac-Man will premiere on Netflix this November, and the streamer released an advance clip from the miniseries this morning. It’s brief, but there are a couple things it reveals that we didn’t know previously.
He is Psychometric is about a person who is psychometric, i.e. he has the ability to analyze a person or an object by touching them and can see the past. Such a gift comes in handy for police detectives and prosecutors who are trying to solve crimes. Lee Ahn has this gift, although he wonders why he has “the ability to read peoples’ pasts”. Logically … ??? … “Isn’t seeing the future better?” When he was about 8 years old, he realized he was able to touch a person or an object and see the past. As a child, it frightened him, but as he got older he began to accept that this ability might be a good thing.
One of Free League’s longest-running RPGs, Mutant: Year Zero, is getting another expansion, the company announced today. This one, titled Ad Astra, expands the post-apocalyptic world into the stars.
