2015 Kickstarter Bloodstained Only 20 To 30 Percent Complete
The past few years have seen various Kickstarter projects become muddied with delays and even cancellations. Koji Igarashi’s Bloodstained seems to be suffering the same fate as the developer has confirmed the game is only “20 to 30 percent complete” after almost two years of development since the end of the successful crowdfunding campaign. This puts a planned 2018 release under doubt.
The Japanese developer is aware of the delays and revealed in an interview with Famitsu that he needs to “speed up development” over the coming months if he is to make the target release date. Part of the lack of progress can be explained from the fact that Bloodstained was being developed for the Wii U but changed to focus on the Switch in the last few months as the old Nintendo platform would have been obsolete by the time the game launched.
