LittleBigPlanet 3
Much like its predecessors, LittleBigPlanet 3 is a platformer that puts much emphasis on players having to solve puzzles to advance through levels. This latest installment brings a host of new features, including brand new characters with additional powers, a fully voice-acted story and power-ups that have not been seen in the series before. The level editor has also seen an overhaul and allows for far more advanced player levels to be created, along with enhanced versions of tolls that were available in LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet 2.
Natural Doctrine
Available across all of Sony’s current platforms, including the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, Natural Doctrine is a tactical role-playing game that is set fantasy world filled with a mixture of mythical races. Using turn-based combat, players must battle against other races on their own or co-operatively. Any player who revels in outthinking their opponents in games and loves a hugely challenging experience will likely appreciate a copy of this.
Driveclub
While Xbox users wanting a racing game have the Forza series to keep them busy, PlayStation users generally only have Gran Turismo titles to look forward to. Sony remedied that this year with Driveclub, a game that features an easy to grasp control scheme and a deep online interconnected experience that transforms the gameplay allowing players to team up with friends to create clubs and complete challenges. With immersive environments that are incredibly details and fun gameplay, Driveclub is a great choice for any PlayStation 4 gamer who wants to go racing.
Infamous Second Son
This open world action adventure games is similar to many other open world games and borrows concepts from games such as Grand Theft Auto and Crackdown. However, what sets this title apart are the superb visuals and excellent combat that includes the use of special super powers. The game also has a full expansion pack known as Infamous First Light available, so there will be plenty of content to keep the person you buy this game for busy even after they complete the main story. Exclusive to the PlayStation 4, it would be a great present for anyone itching to explore a huge city.
Frozen Synapse Prime
Frozen Synapse Prime is a sequel to the strategy game Frozen Synapse that released on PC in 2011 to critical acclaim. Players have to get through a variety of levels using advanced tactics while in control of a small team of soldiers. The aim is to complete tasks such as eliminating enemy squads or rescuing hostages. Prime follows on from its predecessor with similar gameplay but offers a fresh new look with more enhanced graphics. It is available for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita.
