While Grand Theft Auto V has already been available for over a year on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, there is a brand new version releasing this November for next generation consoles. Featuring enhanced visuals and performance, the new release also comes with a variety of new features, the most noticeable of which is the ability to switch to a first-person view rather than the traditional third-person perspective used by the series. Grand Theft Auto V would be great for anyone who never experienced the game when it originally released or those who have already played it thanks to an ability to transfer saves between the different versions.
Destiny

Destiny is the latest shooter from Bungie, the creators who had previously created hit games such as Halo and Marathon. Unlike their past titles though, Destiny puts much more focus on role-playing elements such as progression and loot gathering. With a campaign built to be played online with friends and strangers, endgame content such as raids as well as an intense competitive multiplayer mode, Destiny would likely be appreciated by any players who like to play online and have a passion for FPS games that differentiate themselves from other generic shooters.

Any soccer fan will want to have this game in their stockings this Christmas.
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Available on: Xbox One | PlayStation 4 | Xbox 360 | PlayStation 3 | PC
Dragon Age: Inquisition is the third installment in the Dragon Age series. After a rocky sequel released in 2011, BioWare have gone back to what made the original game such a hit and have crafted one of the best role-playing games available on current consoles. Lauded by critics for its huge world and the choices that the player can make that affect gameplay, along with rewarding combat mechanics and impressive graphics, Dragon Age: Inquisition is a must have for any gamers who enjoy titles such as Mass Effect and Knights of the Old Republic.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Available on: Xbox One | PlayStation 4 | Xbox 360 | PlayStation 3 | PC
Following on from the other incredibly popular Call of Duty games, Advanced Warfare is a fast-paced first-person shooter that continues many of the traditions of its predecessors. With excellent run and gun gameplay that stands the franchise out as the premier shooter on the market, the new entry sees a number of changes and additions. These include a futuristic setting, new types of weaponry and a more minimalistic on screen display. The biggest addition though is the customization options that are available to players online. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is perfect for anyone who spends most of their time gaming in online multiplayer.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
Available on: Xbox One | PlayStation 4 | Xbox 360 | PlayStation 3 | PC
Set between the events that occur in The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor sees players take on the role of a recently resurrected ranger known as Talion as he seeks his revenge on those who killed him in Mordor. It has been widely praised as being the best game to make use of the Lord of the Rings property due to its excellent combat system and deep story. The biggest feature, known as the Nemesis System, is a brand new mechanic that transforms the action RPG into a game that feels alive as enemies seem to be unique and distinct. An ideal gift for anyone who is a fan of the Lord of the Rings or enjoys playing RPG games.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!
Available on: Xbox 360 | PlayStation 3 | PC
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! is the third game in the Borderlands series. It is, however, not a direct sequel to Borderlands 2 but instead is a prequel story that explains some of the backstory to the game. Featuring a diverse mix of playable characters with different play styles, there is a class available for all types of players. The new game continues the distinct mix of shooter and role-playing mechanics as well as the humorous jokes and witty dialogue that made its predecessors so popular. While it doesn’t move the series on significantly, anyone who enjoyed the other Borderlands game will like this installment just as much.
